Koka shpk was established in 1998, starting as a family business and expanding continuously. Primary activity of the company is the production and import-export of chrome ore. For over 12 years Koka shpk operates in the field of mining, excavation, extraction, exploitation and sale of chrome ore.
The company produces and sells around 15,000 tons per year of rich chrome ore in quality Cr2O3 36% – 48%. Also supplies the enrichment factories in the surrounding area of Krasta Bulqize with poor chrome ore ready for enrichment in amounts up to 40,000 tons per year, in quality Cr2O3 18% – 28%.
Koka shpk has expanded its activity in such fields as:
– Construction and digging tunnels (different dimensions), track, road .. etc.
– Exploration, research and discovery of chrome ore deposits and other useful minerals.
– Storage and trading of explosive substances.
– Production, consumption, distribution and trading of electricity.
The company possesses all the necessary permits and documentation for the operation according to the legislation. Koka shpk is recently considering the possibility of using nickel sulfide deposits. Amounts of reserves are estimated to be as follows:
– NiS reserves of about 4,591,000 tons
– PGE reserves around 2,567 kg
– Au reserves of about 701 kg
Koka shpk is the major shareholder in the construction of two hydropower projects “Peshk” and “Stavec” and continues to project the idea for some others. In the future plans is included the project for the development of mountain tourism.
